"A Bowl Full of Happiness" is a forthcoming anthology of comic art devoted to Sea Monkeys, with all proceeds going to benefit the Hero Initiative. The project is run by members of the Sunday Comix cartoonist group. Anyone interested in submitting a one-page comic, featuring theses delightful creatures is welcome to paticipate!

Submission Specs


Content:  Artists (or writer/artist teams) are invited to submit one single page of comics featuring Sea Monkeys.  Use your imagination to envision these creatures, but keep in mind that this is an all ages book, so keep it PG-13 

Page size: 7” by 10”
Live Area: 6” by 9”
File Resolution:  grayscale at least 300dpi; bitmap at least 600dpi
Format: Flattened .JPG, .TIF or .PDF

Initial Release:  A Bowl Full of Happiness will be released at the 2012 Small Press Alternative Comics Expo, in Columbus, Ohio.  Thereafter, the book will be available for sale online and at participating comic book shops.

Compensation:  All contributors will receive a copy of the book, and the ability to order more copies at wholesale price.  Also, contributors will have the opportunity to be filled with the sheer joy of creating a comic about Sea Monkeys, knowing that they’re helping other comic artists through the Hero Initiative.

Ownership and copyright:  All creators maintain ownership and copyright to their individual comics.
